b.      Our book discussion will be Friday, April 27, 2012

c.       Our last book, Divergent, will be available to check out at the April 27th meeting.

 

II.      Upcoming: Book Swap

a.      Dates:  May 21st-May 24th in the Media Center

b.      Bring books to trade and get tickets to use those days

 

III.    Upcoming: Elections

a.      Dates: May  2, 3, and 4 vote in the Media Center

b.      Interested in being an officer next year?

                                                              i.      Send Ms. Stafford an email at cstafford@dadeschools.net. You will be sent a PowerPoint template to complete and send back. It must include the following: the office you are running for, your name, a photo, your grade, your experience with the club, what you would like to see the club do next year, and why you think you would do a great job. The slides will be played in the Media Center so that club members can review candidates running before they vote.

                                                          iii.      PowerPoint slides must be emailed to Ms. Stafford by Thursday, May 3rd.

 

IV.   April is National Library Month! Love your library!

a.      National Library Week will be observed April 8-14, 2012 with the theme, "You belong @ your library®." First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate. Many school libraries also celebrate the month of April as School Library Month sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians, a division of ALA, with the same theme as National Library Week.

 

b.      To celebrate: we will be showing a movie based on a book, The Help , on Thursday April 26th after school in the Media Center.  Join us!
